# Voice creation & Settings

> Configure voice settings and set up pro voices for your avatars and learn about supported languages. 

## Voice creation from scratch

You can create any voice in the "voices" panel section > "+create voice" on the top right > upload 20 seconds to 5 minutes of audio.

  ### What is a good voice dataset?

  * no moments of silence
  * keep the tone and energy you would want your avatar to have, you can exagerate a little if needed
  * no hesitations, they will be replicated
  * be careful not to have outside noise or microphone crackles while you record

## Voice creation when creating an avatar

If you are creating an avatar, you will be presented with three options: - **select a voice :** which is from your own library, from the voices you already have

* **create my voice:** upload any audio file of yourself talking
* **generate my voice:** pick among three voices created for you according to the person we see on your image

<Tip>
  Don't hesitate to edit your voices in the "voices" section in order to increase the speed to 1.05 or 1.1. This can make all of your videos more entertaining.

### What are public pro voices ?

Some of the voices of our public library are pro voices. They are only available for Pro plan users and are also found on Pro avatars.

If you are on a Pro plan, you can use any avatar and simply switch the voice with a Pro voice of your choice in the Some of the voices of our public library are pro voices. They are only available for Pro plan users.

## Connect ElevenLabs

1. Add desired voices to your ElevenLabs account
2. Create an API key
3. Paste API key in "voices" > "ElevenLabs" on Argil
4. Click "synchronize" after adding new voices

## Create an Elevenlabs Pro Voice

Pro voices offer hyper-realistic voice cloning for maximum authenticity. While you are limited to only 1 pro voice per elevenlabs account, you can connect multiple accounts to Argil.

1. Subscribe to ElevenLabs creator plan
2. Record 30 minutes of clean audio (no pauses/noise)
3. Create and paste API key in "voices" > "ElevenLabs"
4. Edit avatar to link your Pro voice
